SGLT-2 inhibitors were associated with a 29% lower epilepsy risk (HR: 0.71, 95% CI: 0.52–0.97) compared to DPP-4 inhibitors in a cohort of 53,854 diabetes patients. Epilepsy incidence was 174.2 vs. 231.5 per 100,000 person-years, respectively. Findings suggest a potential neuroprotective role of SGLT-2is, but further studies are needed to confirm these results and explore underlying mechanisms.
