Significant Patient-Centered Benefits of STRIDE and Durvalumab Revealed in New HIMALAYA Study

The study evaluated the impact of the Single Tremelimumab Regular Interval Durvalumab (STRIDE) regimen and durvalumab monotherapy compared to sorafenib in unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC) patients. The study included 1,171 participants randomly assigned to receive STRIDE, durvalumab, or sorafenib. Patient-reported outcomes using standardized questionnaires indicated that STRIDE and durvalumab were associated with a longer time to deterioration in global health status/quality of life, physical functioning, fatigue, appetite loss, and abdominal pain compared to sorafenib. Furthermore, the likelihood of clinically meaningful improvement in GHS/QoL, role, emotional and social functioning, and disease-related symptoms was greater with STRIDE and durvalumab versus sorafenib. These findings support the benefits of the STRIDE regimen compared to sorafenib in managing uHCC symptoms.
