The pilot study explored the effects of slow-wave sleep deprivation (SWSD) on emotion regulation in adolescents with depressive symptoms. Fifteen participants underwent three nights of polysomnographic recording: Baseline, SWSD, and Recovery. Greater attenuation in slow-wave sleep (SWS) correlated with improved cognitive control, emotion discrimination, and emotion regulation.
