Sperm DNA methylation dynamics after chemotherapy: A longitudinal study of a patient with testicular germ cell tumor treatment.

This study investigated the long-term effects of chemotherapy on the DNA methylation profile of sperm from a testicular germ cell tumor (TGCT) patient. The patient's sperm was collected before and up to two years after receiving BEP (bleomycin, etoposide, and cisplatin) chemotherapy. The analysis revealed 74 differentially methylated regions (DMRs) six months after therapy, with 17 DMRs remaining altered after 24 months. These DMRs were associated with genes important for early development, potentially affecting embryogenesis and increasing the risk of developmental disorders or miscarriages.
