Statins Show No Clear Chemopreventive Role in Prostate Cancer

Statins are not linked to reduced prostate cancer risk. This case-control study of 3,481 patients found no significant association between statin use and overall or high-grade prostate cancer. Genetic analysis revealed one SNP (rs10276036 GG genotype) possibly linked to reduced cancer risk among statin users, though it lacked genome-wide significance. Findings do not support statins as a chemopreventive agent for prostate cancer.
