A study evaluated the efficacy of enzalutamide and apalutamide in 191 patients with non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC). The study included 137 patients treated with enzalutamide and 54 with apalutamide. Endpoints assessed were PSA response, progression-free survival (PFS), PSA-PFS, metastasis-free survival (MFS), cancer-specific survival (CSS), overall survival (OS), and adverse events (AEs). No significant differences were found in oncological outcomes, with both drugs showing similar rates of PSA response and survival metrics. However, AE profiles varied, with fatigue being the most common AE in the enzalutamide group and skin rash in the apalutamide group. The findings suggest comparable efficacy but different safety profiles for these treatments.
