Study Compares UFR and QFR for Assessing Coronary Artery Lesions

A study compared the diagnostic performance of Ultrasonic Flow Ratio (UFR) and Quantitative Flow Ratio (QFR) in assessing coronary artery lesions. Conducted on 78 patients with intermediate lesions, UFR and QFR were evaluated against Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) as the reference standard. Results demonstrated UFR's strong correlation with FFR and exhibited non-inferior diagnostic accuracy to QFR, outperforming minimum lumen area (MLA). The findings suggest UFR's potential for integrating physiological assessment and intravascular imaging in clinical practice, offering a promising alternative for fast computation of FFR without pressure wires and adenosine.
