Study Finds Combined Vardenafil and Tamsulosin Therapy More Effective for BPH-Related LUTS

A randomized controlled trial examined the efficacy of vardenafil and tamsulosin monotherapy and their combination in treating lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The study included 75 patients who were randomly assigned to three groups. Evaluation at 1, 3, and 6 months included LUTS improvement, uroflowmetry, and sexual performance. The vardenafil/tamsulosin combination yielded the best outcomes, followed by tamsulosin alone. This suggests combination therapy may offer superior efficacy for BPH-related LUTS over monotherapy.
