A recent study used a digital mandibular motion analyser to investigate seven methods for determining centric relation (CR). Among 34 participants without temporomandibular disorder history, methods varied from traditional to novel techniques. Results showed significant deviations from the maximal intercuspal position (MIP) with five methods. Notably, Dawson’s bimanual manipulation and tongue tip placement on the hard and soft palate border exhibited the least deviation. These findings suggest promising alternatives for precise CR determination in clinical practice.
