A meta-analysis of nine studies explored the relationship between the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and vitamin D deficiency (VDD). Results showed that individuals with VDD had a significantly higher TyG index compared to those without deficiency, with a mean difference (MD) of 0.16 (95% CI: 0.10–0.23). This association was notably stronger among patients with type 2 diabetes (MD: 0.15, 95% CI: 0.05–0.26). A negative correlation between the TyG index and vitamin D levels was also identified (r = -0.236). The findings suggest a significant link between vitamin D status and metabolic health, emphasizing the need for further research into the role of vitamin D in metabolic disorders.
