A groundbreaking study employed Mendelian randomization and meta-analyses to establish causal links between bodily fluid biomarkers and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The study identified three bodily fluid indicators (HDLC, EOS, and TP) significantly associated with COPD risk. Notably, EOS and TP were also found to impact lung function (FEV1/FVC). These findings shed light on novel risk factors for COPD, offering potential avenues for preventive strategies.
