
A retrospective case-control study using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to explore the relationship between physical indicators and myopia in 9008 American adolescents. Results indicate that myopia occurrence is linked to age and race, while weight and body mass index (BMI) are associated with increased myopia risk. Moreover, height emerged as a factor influencing the degree of myopia. The study highlights the significance of understanding physical indicators in addressing the prevalent refractive error and its economic impact.
