A recent study investigated cancer-specific mortality free-survival (CSM-FS) disparities in patients undergoing trimodal therapy (TMT) for bladder cancer. Analyzing data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database (2004–2020), the study found increasing TMT utilization in organ-confined (OC) urothelial carcinoma of the urinary bladder (UCUB). However, non-UCUB patients experienced poorer CSM-FS in the OC stages. Conversely, TMT offered limited benefit in non-OC stages, irrespective of UCUB histology. These findings underscore the need for tailored treatment strategies based on disease stage and histology.
