In a prospective cohort study conducted in Mashhad, Iran, 90 adult patients diagnosed with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) were examined. The study compared the effectiveness of betahistine and dimenhydrinate, both in conjunction with the Epley maneuver and as standalone treatments. Results indicated significant differences in SF-36 scores, particularly in emotional well-being and role limitation due to physical health problems. The findings suggest that, in severe BPPV cases, both betahistine and dimenhydrinate may effectively alleviate symptoms when combined with the Epley maneuver.
