Study Reveals Factors Affecting Thrombus Resolution Post-Heart Attack

A retrospective study analyzed 153 myocardial infarction patients with left ventricular thrombus (LVT). Patients were divided into acute to subacute (<30 days) and chronic (≥30 days) phases. C-reactive protein levels correlated inversely with thrombus resolution in the acute phase (OR: 0.95). Anticoagulant therapy increased the odds of resolution in the chronic phase (OR: 5.717). CRP levels and anticoagulant treatment are significant factors in LVT resolution in respective phases post-myocardial infarction.
