A comprehensive study assessed the oral health of preschoolers aged 12–71 months, analyzing the impact of low birth weight (LBW) and birth timing on dental caries. The study included 475 children who underwent intraoral examinations, revealing significant associations between early childhood caries (ECC) and factors including breastfeeding duration, parental education, socioeconomic status, and tooth brushing frequency. Preterm birth correlated strongly with ECC occurrence. The findings stress the importance of early dental care and parental education in ECC prevention, particularly for LBW and preterm infants.
