A recent observational prospective clinical study tracked individuals with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) commencing treatment with semaglutide under routine care. The study collected clinical data at 6 months (T6) and 12 months (T12) post-initiation (T0), employing Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) to assess body composition changes. Patient-reported outcomes (PROs) included the Diabetes Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire (DTSQ) and the 36-item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36). Results showed significant reductions in body weight (-4.69 Kg at T6, -5.38 Kg at T12) and fat mass. Improvements in BMI, waist circumference, glycemic control, blood pressure, lipid profile, treatment satisfaction, and mental health were statistically significant.
