
A prospective study compared the rotational stability of mono-focal and diffractive multifocal toric intraocular lenses (IOLs) with identical designs and materials. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to balance baseline factors. Postoperative follow-up examinations were conducted, and a linear mixed model of repeated measures was used to investigate IOL rotation over time. The study found that the diffractive multifocal toric IOL exhibited superior rotational stability compared to the monofocal toric IOL, especially in certain subgroups. The time course of IOL rotation change was consistent for both groups, with the maximum rotation occurring between 1 hour and 1 day postoperatively.
