In a study 1831 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) were analyzed, with 302 (15.6%) experiencing acute kidney injury (AKI). Elevated TyG levels were found to be significantly associated with AKI occurrence in AMI patients. Compared to lower quartiles, higher TyG quartiles demonstrated increased AKI risk, with a 34.4% rise in AKI risk per standard deviation increase in TyG levels. Additionally, a non-linear relationship between TyG levels and AKI risk was observed within a specified range. Propensity score matching confirmed these associations. Thus, high TyG levels serve as a predictive factor for AKI risk in AMI patients, suggesting potential utility in clinical management.
