Study Shows Low Restenosis Rate and Favorable Outcomes with Triple Antiplatelet Therapy in Tandem Lesion Treatment

A study analyzed 176 patients undergoing tandem lesion (TL) treatment for acute stroke from 2013 to 2022. Patients received triple antiplatelet therapy (APT) and were monitored for 90 days. Results showed a low 2.3% periprocedural complication rate with no deaths during the procedure. In-stent restenosis occurred in 4.54% of cases, necessitating treatment. No significant adverse effects on stent patency were noted from comorbidities. Triple APT shows promise in preventing recurrent stroke post-TL treatment.
