A recent multicenter cohort study assessed the prevalence of adenomyosis in postpartum hysterectomy cases due to postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and its implications. Results showed a 39.4% prevalence of adenomyosis, correlating with longer hospital stays, increased risk of hypertensive disorders, threatened preterm labor, urgent/emergency C-sections, postpartum complications, maternal ICU admissions, and low birth weight neonates. The findings underscore adenomyosis's significant association with adverse obstetric, maternal, and neonatal outcomes in PPH cases.
