Submucosal Steroid Strategy Reduces Oesophageal Strictures After ESD

A novel submucosal steroid pre-injection strategy (SSPS) was evaluated for preventing oesophageal stricture after circumferential endoscopic submucosal dissection (cESD). Using triamcinolone injections during and post-procedure, only 1 out of 9 patients developed a stricture, which resolved with a single dilation. The strategy, which maintains steroid exposure throughout the procedure, showed promising results without adverse events, suggesting potential for broader application pending further trials.
