A retrospective interventional study investigated the postoperative visual outcomes and surgical complications associated with anterior/pars plana vitrectomy and concurrent Yamane’s intraocular lens (IOL) fixation for crystalline lens dislocation. The study analysed Fifty-three patients (56 eyes) with lens subluxation/dislocation. Results showed a 10.7% incidence of preoperative undetected retinal holes/degeneration (PURH/D). Anterior and pars plana vitrectomy demonstrated comparable outcomes, with spontaneous posterior vitreous detachment in 68.8% of cases. Factors such as patient age, PURH, and posterior vitreous detachment status influence the choice of vitrectomy approach. Pediatric patients may benefit from transcorneal vitreolensectomy, while adults with PURH may benefit from total vitrectomy and intraoperative laser retinopexy to reduce postoperative retinal detachment.

Higher total and recreational screen time were associated with increased odds of suspected developmental delays, particularly receptive language and gross motor delays. Educational and communication-based screen time were associated with lower odds of delays in selected developmental domains. The findings highlight the importance of limiting recreational screen exposure and encouraging age-appropriate, interactive digital activities.
