The study revealed that patients with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer who do not achieve an optimal prostate-specific antigen (PSA) response during intensified androgen deprivation therapy have worse survival outcomes. The study examined 205 patients, where 66.3% achieved a positive PSA response (PSA nadir ≤0.2 ng/ml), while 33.7% had a suboptimal PSA response (PSA nadir >0.2 ng/ml). Those with a positive PSA response showed significantly improved progression-free survival and overall survival compared to the suboptimal response group.
