A novel approach using synthetic high-density lipoprotein (sHDL) shows promise in treating apical periodontitis (AP), a prevalent dental condition causing inflammation and bone resorption. sHDL, applied in concentrations ranging from 25 µg to 500 µg/mL, effectively reduces NF-κB activation, inhibits osteoclastogenesis, and suppresses pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1α, TNF-α, and IL-6. In vivo application post-treatment significantly reduces bone resorption and inflammatory cell count, highlighting sHDL's potential as a safe and innovative therapeutic strategy for managing dental bone inflammation.
