The Osia transcutaneous hearing device has displayed promising outcomes in enhancing hearing for various hearing loss types. The study findings showed an overall mean functional gain of 35.0 dB SPL compared to unaided hearing. For conductive/mixed hearing loss, this gain soared to 37.7 dB SPL. Although data for SSD was limited, there was a trend indicating improved speech receptiveness, signal-to-noise ratio, and patient-reported outcomes. Furthermore, the device demonstrated a low risk of complications, with an expected explantation rate of just 0.11% and a wound infection rate of 1.92%. In conclusion, Osia presents clear audiologic advantages and a favorable safety record.
