The present study reviews the controversy over using CT angiography (CTA) in pediatric patients with seemingly minor oropharyngeal trauma. A total of 662 patients were included in the review, with 255 having CTA. The study found that imaging with CTA yielded radiological abnormalities in a few instances but did not result in significant management changes or improved outcomes. Therefore, the routine use of CTA in screening pediatric oropharyngeal trauma is not recommended due to the radiation risk.
