TAK-071 Shows Cognitive Benefits, No Gait Improvement in Parkinson's

In a phase 2 trial of TAK-071 for Parkinson's disease, no improvement in gait variability was observed compared to placebo. However, treatment showed significant cognitive improvement, particularly in attention, executive function, and memory. The trial, which included 54 participants with Parkinson’s and cognitive impairment, suggests TAK-071 may benefit cognitive function but not gait. Further studies in more diverse populations are needed to confirm these findings.
