Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is rare cancer that often recurs after surgery. Currently, there are no established systemic treatments for PC. This study used whole-genome and RNA sequencing to identify molecular alterations in four patients with advanced PC, which could guide clinical management. In addition, the study found that two patients had potential targets for experimental therapies, including immune checkpoint inhibition and multi-receptor tyrosine kinase inhibition. The study also provided new insights into the molecular landscape of PC and highlighted the potential of comprehensive molecular analysis to improve care for patients with ultra-rare cancers.
