Telehealth use and its impact on clinical outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes during the COVID‐19 pandemic

Recent research highlights the positive impact of telehealth on patients with type 2 diabetes during the COVID-19 pandemic. A study found that telehealth users experienced better HbA1c control, a significant decrease of 0.146% on average. The proportion of patients with HbA1c levels >7% decreased as well. Additionally, modest improvements were noted in LDL cholesterol levels, diastolic blood pressure, and BMI. These findings suggest that telehealth services were crucial in enhancing glycaemic control and managing clinical outcomes in type 2 diabetes patients during the pandemic.
