A recent study investigated the impact of lateral extra-articular tenodesis (LET) on knee kinematics following combined ACL reconstruction (ACL-R) and partial medial meniscus posterior horn (MMPH) meniscectomy. The study found that the addition of LET reduced anterior tibial translation (ATT) and internal rotation (IR) in response to anterior tibial (AT) and internal rotation (IR) loads, particularly at knee flexion angles other than 90°. When performed after MMPH meniscectomy, LET significantly decreased knee laxity, suggesting its potential as a valuable adjunct procedure in cases involving ACL-R with partial MMPH meniscectomy. Doctors should consider this option for improved patient outcomes.
