A study in Somalia with 200 hemodialysis (HD) patients aimed to assess their quality of life (QoL), depression, and anxiety levels. Results showed 48% had mild depression, 13.5% had moderate-to-severe symptoms. Depression and anxiety significantly impacted QoL, affecting physical and psychological health, social relationships, and environmental well-being. Socio-demographic factors like age, gender, and family income were linked to QoL. The study underscores the crucial role of addressing anxiety, depression, and financial aspects for enhanced QoL in HD patients, advocating regular emotional assessments and multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient care.
