A systematic review was conducted to assess the role of positron emission tomography (PET) scan in managing sinonasal malignancies. A total of 39 original papers published between 2004 and 2021 were included in the review. The studies focused on various types of sinonasal malignancies, such as inverted papilloma, sinonasal carcinoma, melanoma, and lymphoma. The findings indicated that PET scan was useful for the detection and initial staging of all types of sinonasal malignancies, as well as for identifying distant metastases. However, PET scans had limitations in detecting lesions near the brain's metabolic activity. The included studies were mostly retrospective with a low level of evidence.
