The article discusses a retrospective study on the use of MRI-based radiomics in oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (OTSCC) to improve prognosis prediction before surgery. The study analyzed preoperative MRIs of 79 patients and used radiomic software to extract features and develop predictive models. The study found that the radiomic-score was statistically significant in almost all clinical-radiomic models, and the ADC sequence provided the best fit to the models. The authors conclude that MRI-based radiomics in OTSCC shows promise as a noninvasive method of precision medicine.
