Acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) often results from coronary plaque rupture, with dual anti-platelet therapy as a cornerstone of treatment. This meta-analysis compared the efficacy and safety of Ticagrelor versus Clopidogrel in post-STEMI patients. Eleven studies involving 5,274 Ticagrelor and 5,295 Clopidogrel patients were analyzed. Ticagrelor showed reduced rates of mortality, recurrent myocardial infarction, stroke, and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) compared to Clopidogrel, though the differences were not statistically significant. Additionally, no significant differences were observed in bleeding risk (BARC ≥ 3) or TIMI flow grade improvement between the groups. While Ticagrelor showed a potential advantage, further studies are needed to confirm its clinical superiority in post-STEMI management.
