Time-Restricted Eating Reduces Cvd Risks After Breast Cancer

A recent study explores the potential benefits of 16:8 time-restricted eating (TRE) in breast cancer survivors with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors. Over eight weeks, participants adhered to an 8-hour eating window, followed by a 16-hour fast, consuming only black coffee, water, or tea outside those hours. The results are promising: a 15% reduction in Framingham cardiovascular risk, a 22% drop in caloric intake, and improvements in body and fat mass. Remarkably, 53% of participants were no longer categorized as having metabolic syndrome or needing CVD medication. Longer-term studies and randomized trials are required for further validation.
