The use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) has been found to improve overall survival in patients with advanced or metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC). While other treatment strategies such as immunotherapy are also used, TKIs remain a first-line therapy option for many patients and are often used as subsequent-line therapy. However, TKI treatment can last for a long time and can cause serious adverse effects that may be burdensome for patients.
