Tobramycin Dosing in Cystic Fibrosis: LLR vs. Bayesian MIPD

Tobramycin Dosing in Cystic Fibrosis: LLR vs. Bayesian MIPD

This single-center retrospective study compared two-sample log-linear regression (LLR) and Bayesian model-informed precision dosing (MIPD) methods for estimating tobramycin concentrations and area under the concentration-time curve (AUC) in adult cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. Among 70 treatment courses, Bayesian methods showed inferior accuracy (47.1%–50.7% vs. 75.7%), higher mean percent error (MPE: 24.2%–32.4% vs. −2.4%), and higher normalized root mean square error (nRMSE: 35.0%–39.4% vs. 24.8%) for peak predictions, but better performance for trough concentrations.
