Youth in the US and Canada face high cardiovascular disease risk factors, prompting the growth of independent pediatric preventive cardiology programs. Unclear best practices led to surveys of experts in both countries. Results emphasize the need for collaboration among heart centers, hospitals, policymakers, and professional societies to improve youth cardiovascular health, combat premature cardiovascular disease, and extend healthy lives. Investment, advocacy, training, and research are called for to strengthen pediatric preventive cardiology programs and practices. A united effort is urged to advance this vital field and reduce cardiovascular risks in the young population.
