Recent laryngology graduates' experiences, competencies, and learning challenges in office-based procedures during their US and Canadian fellowship training were explored. A survey of 90 fellowship-trained laryngologists from 2018 to 2022 revealed that most felt confident in vocal fold injection augmentation but faced challenges in procedures like laryngeal botulinum toxin injection. Training barriers included awake patients and obtaining consent for trainee involvement. Teaching methods mainly involved informal debriefing and case troubleshooting. This study highlights the strengths and weaknesses of laryngology fellowship training, emphasizing the need for improved training in specific procedures.
