Transperineal laser ablation (TPLA) is a minimally invasive breakthrough for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), showing promise in recent systematic reviews. Examining 11 studies TPLA demonstrates favorable functional outcomes in both objective (maximum flow rate, post-void residual) and subjective aspects (International Prostate Symptom Score, QoL). Complication rates range from 1.9% to 36.3% for various issues, such as hematuria and dysuria. Over 95% of patients retain ejaculation, with sexual function generally maintained or improved. However, further long-term data and comparative analysis are needed to solidify TPLA's position in BPH treatment.
