Treatment burden for people experiencing homelessness with a recent non-fatal overdose: a questionnaire study

A study examined the treatment burden faced by people experiencing homelessness (PEH) with a recent non-fatal drug overdose. Out of 128 participants, 123 completed the questionnaire, revealing that PEH faced a significantly high treatment burden, particularly in physical and mental exhaustion domains and limitations in daily activities. These findings highlight the need to address the impact of self-management on the wellbeing and daily lives of homeless individuals and advocate for including treatment burden as an outcome measure in future interventions and trials for this vulnerable population.
