SCP surgery is a new surgical method used to treat advanced Meniere's disease (MD). A retrospective study was conducted to compare the long-term efficacy of SCP with labyrinthectomy in treating advanced MD. The study found that the total control rate of vertigo in the TSCP group was 96.7%, with a hearing loss rate of 23.3%. The control rate of vertigo in the labyrinthectomy group was 100%, but all patients lost their auditory function. The study concludes that compared to labyrinthectomy, TSCP can preserve hearing at a high probability while also benefiting patients from faster vestibular compensation due to otolith organ function preservation.
