This study uncovers vital insights into submucosal mass lesions within the oral cavity using intraoral ultrasonography. The study included 50 patients with various conditions such as hemangioma, irritation fibroma, mucous cyst, lipoma, and pleomorphic adenoma. Notable findings include hemangiomas displaying cord-like, internally hypoechoic structures, irritation fibromas appearing mainly internally isoechoic, mucous cysts presenting as hypoechoic, and lipomas manifesting as homogeneous, isoechoic, or hyperechoic images with unclear borders. Pleomorphic adenomas showcased a thick capsular structure surrounded by a single hypoechoic zone. These discoveries enhance the diagnostic precision of small, elusive oral mucosal epithelium lesions, potentially leading to improved patient care.
