This study assessed the feasibility of using ultrasound-guided Kirschner wire or elastic intramedullary nail fixation for treating acute Monteggia fractures in children. A retrospective analysis of 31 cases treated between April 2020 and December 2022 was conducted. Fracture reduction was guided by ultrasound, and postoperative outcomes were evaluated. Both fixation methods showed positive results: surgery lasted an average of 50.16 min, with excellent reduction observed in 28 cases. Follow-up revealed good range of motion in affected limbs, similar to healthy ones. The approach minimizes radiation exposure and complications, demonstrating its potential for effectively treating Monteggia fractures in children.
