Dementia poses a significant global health challenge, particularly in low and middle-income countries, contributing to 67% of reported cases. A 2019 cross-sectional study in Bangladesh among individuals aged 60 and above revealed an 8.0% dementia prevalence, varying by age, gender, and education. Odds of dementia were twice as high in females, nine times higher in those aged ≥90 years, and three times higher in those with no education. These findings emphasize the need for tailored dementia risk reduction strategies in countries like Bangladesh.
