A retrospective study of 407 patients receiving intravesical Botox A for refractory overactive bladder (OAB) revealed that women were more likely to have successful outcomes, as defined by a PGI-I score of 1 or 2. The duration of voiding detrusor contraction (DCD) was a significant predictor of treatment success. However, no other urodynamic parameters correlated with successful outcomes or posttreatment voiding difficulties. Acute voiding difficulties requiring catheterization were observed in 24% of patients, primarily among those reporting positive treatment responses.
