
U.S. health officials plan to recommend using the antibiotic doxycycline as a morning-after pill for gay and bisexual men to reduce the risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Studies show that taking doxycycline within three days of unprotected sex significantly lowers the chances of contracting chlamydia, syphilis, or gonorrhea. The guideline aims to address rising STD rates, especially among high-risk populations.
