Vestibular Rehabilitation's Impact on Postural Balance in Parkinson’s Patients

Impaired postural balance in Parkinson’s disease patients significantly impacts their quality of life. Investigating the potential role of the vestibular system in postural function, the study aims to evaluate the efficacy of vestibular rehabilitation. Conducted through rigorous database searches and meticulous study selection, only three eligible studies involving 130 participants were included. Meta-analysis demonstrated significant improvement in postural balance with vestibular rehabilitation, albeit with caution due to limited randomized controlled trials and concerns about bias. Nonetheless, the overall evidence quality remains very low, necessitating further robust research to ascertain its therapeutic benefits.
