Study finds that psychological distress and body dissatisfaction are higher among individuals with obesity who experience weight discrimination. The study compared the impact of BMI, weight bias internalization (WBI), and weight discrimination on psychological distress and body dissatisfaction. The results revealed that people with obesity and those who internalized weight bias or faced current and past weight discrimination reported higher psychological distress and body dissatisfaction. WBI was identified as the strongest predictor after accounting for other factors.
